Three thirty-something
guys formed the
band Black Velvet Flag to parody the punk music of their youth
and to mock its audience's craving for the nostalgia of resisting
conformity. As they ascended into the professional middle-class,
they used lounge music to cover class punk to describe how some
ex-punks like themselves grew up, and how they reconciled the
contradictions of their lives.
